Introduction

This lesson will introduce you to some of the best surfing destinations for beginners, to guide you on where to learn to surf by picking good beginner surf spots. While it may seem tempting to head to any beach and start surfing as a beginner, there are several important reasons why it’s advisable to choose the right location when learning to surf.

Why is it important to pick an appropriate surf spot as a beginner?

Not all beaches offer ideal conditions for beginners. Some surf spots have large, powerful waves that are more suited for experienced surfers. Surfing at an unsuitable location without knowledge of local conditions can put you at risk of accidents, injuries, and even drowning. Learning on smaller, gentler waves at beginner surf spots is recommended for beginners to build confidence and skills gradually.

Now, let’s explore some of the best beginner surf spots around the world!
